Josef Fritzl, the Austrian man who imprisoned his daughter for 24 years in a cellar and fathered her seven children, has been found guilty on all charges against him. He will spend the rest of his life locked in a psychiatric institution.

Fears house of horrors could become ghoulish tourist attraction

The house where Josef Fritzl imprisoned his daughter in a purpose-built dungeon for 24 years may be bought by the local council in Amstetten, Austria, to prevent it being turned into a ghoulish tourist attraction.

Untill now the house in Ybbstrasse where Fritzl raped his daughter more than 3,000 times has remained a sealed crime scene, constantly guarded by police.

But after Fritzl was sentenced to life in a secure psychiatric facility on Thursday the Austrian authorities must decide what to do with the sprawling 66-room property.
